Att renovera Skrogsvrak har blivit en sport.

Läste bland annat en intressant artikel i LT. Den handlar om Lennart Nilsson från Östersund som gillar att restaurera skogsvrak, det vill säga gamla bilar som har blivit dumpade i skogen för att rosta sönder.
Han berättar om en Chevrolet som stått i skogen i 25 år. Priset var 800 kr och efter en mödosam renovering ligger nu värdet ca 200.000 kr.

PÅ SVT läste jag om Folke Hemmingsson i Storhögen som skulle sälja av en stor del av sin bil samling. Bland Jaguarer och T-fordar var det dock ett rostig skal från en Hanomag Sturm som drog åt sig entusiasternas intresse. Det handlade om en Hanomag Sturm som var specialbeställd som 4-dörrars, vilket gjorde den unik, möjligen den enda existerande i sitt slag. Om man vill kalla den existerande, då det faktisk bara var ett rostigt skal.

Det finns många som gillar att renovera bilar, men är utgångläget en helt genomrostad bil som blivit stående i skogen, då är det verkligen en utmaning.

Så varför anstränger man sig så mycket för att renovera en bil som det nästan inte finns något kvar av? Svaret är enkelt. Vill man ha något riktigt unikt så är det värt svetten och timmarna i verkstaden.

Så hur ska du göra om du nu hittar en rostig bil i skogen och genast känner för att renovera den. Ta det lite lugnt.

Tänk på följande:

  • Även om det inte ser ut så kan det faktiskt vara någon som fortfarande äger bilen. Kontakta i första hand markägaren. Om markägaren inte själv äger bilen och det kan betraktas som en skrotbil (”fordonsvrak”) behöver bilens ägare inte underrättas innan bilen flyttas. Tänk dock på att Ett fordonsvrak är ett fordon som med hänsyn till sitt skick, hur länge det har stått på samma plats eller andra omständigheter måste anses övergivet och som uppenbarligen har ringa eller inget värde.
  • Sedan är det dags att tänka på om det är värt all möda att renovera ett vrak. Det kommer ta tid, det kommer kosta massor av pengar.
  • Vad är ditt syfte med att renovera bilen. Är det pengar, eller bara ett tidsfördriv? Är det ett tidsfördriv välj då istället en fräschare bil.
  • Är bilen i sig värd att renovera? Är den tillräckligt unik för att den efter slutförd renovering kan inbringa mer än den har kostat att renovera?
  • Är du en mekare av rang? Endast med en stor portion tur och rejält med pengar på fickan kan du hitta begagnade bildelar från originaltillverkaren. Men troligen inte. Du kommer att få modifiera och tillverka de flesta delarna på egen hand.
  • Kan du plåtslageri? Här handlar det inte om att laga rosthål, här handlar det om att bygga en ny bil. Se mer ditt vrak som en mall på hur bilen en gång sett ut.

Om du ändå står fast och verkligen vill renovera ett skogsvrak så finns det många du kan grupper på webben du rådfråga. Att renovera skogsvrak är tydlig en ny trend.
